HOW TO START REAL ESTATE BUSINESS. 

You can start real estate business as either. 

1) AN AGENT OR CONSULTANT: Real Estate agents assist homeowners and investors buy and sell all four types of properties. They are the frontline marketers of the properties. You can start this with little or no capital. No capital as an independent agent affiliated to no company, or little capital for registration or affiliating to a company.  This is good for a starter.

Note: Real Estate  agents have a professional license to help people buy, sell and rent properties. 

An average real estate agent makes 500k to 5 million naira every month.

2) A REAL ESTATE BROKER: A real estate broker is somebody who helps people buy and sell property. They work with buyers to find the right property, and then help them through the buying process. They also work with sellers to get their property ready for sale, and then help them through the selling process. 

Brokers are real estate agents who have completed additional training and licensing requirements. They can work independently and hire other real estate agents to work for them.

This is the plan I am into. I earn indirect commission from a real estate  company for any real estate deal my agent close. 

3) REAL ESTATE INVESTOR:   Real estate investors are people who purchase property with the intent of making a profit from its resale or lease. They buy properties and allow it to appreciate before they resell and reap profits. I am here too. You need capital of 1m to 50m to thrive here. 

When you buy in strategic locations, you will turn 1m to 10m within 2years. 

Strategic locations to buy properties in Nigeria are: Lagos, Asaba, Abuja, Awka, Port Harcourt, kano,Uyo and Ibadan.

This places have fast appreciation value. 

4) REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER: Real estate developers are people who are in charge of developing land for homes, businesses, and other establishments. They convert ideas from paper to real property. 

Developers buy land in massive quantity, finance real estate deals, create, imagine, control and orchestrate process of development from start to finish. They're the big boys in the industry. The likes of Donald Trump, Dr Augustine Onwumere (chairman PWAN GROUP)etc.

You can start your real estate career  as 

Agent

Broker

Investor 

 Developer.
